What 5 Foods You Should Eat to Lower Triglycerides, Naturally?

September 10, 2012 No Comments Steve Dubin Cholesterol, Triglycerides

Triglycerides are a form of fat in your blood that is stored in fat cells. They are released by hormones to fuel your body between meals or when your level of activity increases. When triglycerides become high, your risk of heart disease increases as the triglycerides increase. The main food that causes high triglycerides is sugar, especially processed sugars. This type of sugar is found in refined carbohydrate foods. The good news is; there are foods you can eat that will lower triglycerides naturally.

1. Fish Oil

Most people have heard that consuming fish is good for their health. Fish oil is high in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids have the ability to reduce fatty substances in the blood. Omega-3 fatty acids also have the ability to lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels. Taking fish oil supplements is one good way to get enough omega-3 fatty acids. It is better if you actually eat fish, because you will then receive the benefits of many other nutrients that fish provide.

2. Slow-Release Carbohydrates

If you look at the glycemic index you will find foods that are full of carbohydrates. If you regularly eat foods that are low on that list, you will help your body lower it’s level of triglycerides. The reason for this is; these foods are called Slow-Release carbohydrates, and they have the ability to lower triglycerides. They are also good foods to eat before exercising, because they will give you a slow and steady release of energy. Some of these beneficial foods include red lentils, apples, peas, peanuts, cherries, green beans, and navy beans.

3. Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and Vegetables are another group of foods that all of us have been told to eat since we were in grade school. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables will help lower your level of triglycerides. There are also many other benefits to eating fruits and vegetables. Some of the best vegetables for lowering triglycerides are asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, and cucumbers.

4. Chromium

Chromium is good for lowering LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It will also increase the level of good HDL cholesterol levels in your blood. The recommended daily dosage of chromium is 50 to 200 mg.

5. Bios Life

If you do not care for any of the helpful foods on this list, you can choose to use a product called, “Bios Life”. This product is clinically proven to combine four effective methods of lowering LDL cholesterol. Bios Life also helps lower triglycerides.
